2006 Ligonier Conference

Join us this weekend--Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8, 2006--for the fall 2006 Ligonier Conference. The subject is the Atonement of Christ and its significance in our lives. Speakers will be R.C. Sproul and Ligon Duncan. Here's a brief summary:

Beginning with the man’s need for atonement, they will discuss the identity of those Jesus came to save, look at how He ransoms us from God’s curse, and answer common questions about the meaning of the crucifixion.
Everyone who is anyone will be there. It should be a great time. Join us!

Van what's the deal with this Ligonier lawsuit? Do you know anything about it? The whole thing just sounds crazy to me. I can't understand why a Christian ministry would be suing a brother in Christ, and it doesn't look like they even attempted to resolve anything privately before suing him. How can they claim to be a Bible ministry but violate 1 Cor. 6?

Hi Craig. Welcome to the site. Actually, I didn't know anything about this lawsuit until you mentioned it. I will try to look into it and learn what I can.

The trouble with the internet is so much of the details on this sort of thing is hearsay, rumor, and slander--not truth presented with charity. People with little real insight into a situation are often so quick to accuse the parties of impropriety, when they don't know all the facts themselves. And, sadly, they often are at least as guilty of sin by spreading false rumors, and vitriolically slandering their brothers in Christ.

Hopefully, people will hold their tongues (and fingers) until the truth is fully known. :)
